Margot + Sarah Anne’s Autumn Wedding at Old Sherrill’s Inn, Fairview, NC

An October afternoon at Old Sherrill’s Inn brings a kind of quiet charm you can only find in the North Carolina mountains. With golden leaves swirling through the Ceremony Grove and crisp orchard air settling in, Margot and Sarah Anne’s wedding felt warm, grounded, and deeply personal. Surrounded by about 130 of their favorite people, they filled the day with joy, intention, and a healthy dose of fall coziness in Fairview, NC.

Getting Ready in the Heart of the Farmhouse

Photographers Carolyn and Jake (side note: this was their wedding venue as well!) spent the early afternoon capturing intimate moments as Margot slipped into her gown in the music room, helped by her mom, and Sarah Anne finalized her look in the pink suite. Fall wedding details—like her “blue stitch” suit button and custom varsity jackets for the reception—added personality and seasonal flair to every shot.

Golden Moment: First Look in the Grove

Against a backdrop of fiery foliage, the two found each other at the edge of the Ceremony Grove. Their first look was filled with quiet joy—a private moment bathed in dappled golden light before family and wedding party arrived to capture joyful photos amongst the fall beauty.

Ceremony Amongst a Colorful Canopy

As guests arrived, the Grove glowed with deep autumn hues. Surrounded by friends and family, Margot and Sarah Anne walked each other down the aisle to initiate their heartfelt ceremony. Once they were officially married, the couple was embraced by cheers and the speckled autumn sunlight filtering through red and amber leaves.

À La Orchard: Cocktails, Details & Fall Vibes

Cocktails in the orchard began with golden-hour lighting accenting seasonal details: cozy koozies, doggie cocktail napkins, and a charming guestbook menu inspired by the Blue Ridge Parkway. Jake captured candid family and party photos while the lounge buzzed with laughter and pumpkin‑tinted lighting.

Dinner, Dancing & Heartfelt Moments

A spark of anticipation hung in the crisp air as guests were invited to dinner. Moments later, Margot and Sarah Anne shared a cake-cutting filled with sweet smiles under glowing fairy lights. Their first dance—gentle and heartfelt—opened the dance floor as dusk painted the orchard with sunset hues.

A Feast for the Senses & Autumn-Inspired Finale

Once dancing began, the party shifted into high gear as the One Nation Party Band had the entire tent on their feet and ROCKIN’! A delightful bubble exit in the orchard sent Margot and Sarah Anne off as a newly married couple – joyful, confetti-bright, and wrapped in autumn’s embrace.
