A Sunrise Start: First Look at Black Balsam Knob
The day started off with Shea, Chris, and the whispering of the pines surrounding them. We met up at the Black Balsam Knob parking lot, the early morning air crisp and promising. With headlamps guiding the way, we embarked on a journey towards the summit. As the sky began to paint itself with the first brushstrokes of dawn, the couple changed into their wedding attire, eager for the day ahead. Shea, a talented hair stylist, had done her own hair and makeup for the occasion! The sunrise moment was breathtaking, filled with genuine emotions as they shared their first look against the backdrop of the sprawling Western NC mountains. After the sun had risen, they enjoyed coffee on a campstove we prepared for them as they soaked in the moment and connected with each other before the day ahead.
The Ceremony: A Heartfelt Wedding Ceremony on The Blue Ridge Parkway
After their coffee, we hiked back down and headed to an overlook further down the Blue Ridge Parkway where their closest family and friends were waiting for them. Surrounded by their nearest and dearest and the sweeping views of the mountains, the two exchanged their heartfelt vows and were officially married! The joy was palpable – hugs, tears, laughter, and a champagne pop with a refreshing mimosa toast to celebrate the union.
The Adventures Continue: Epic Wedding Portraits at Looking Glass Falls!
After capturing some joyful family moments, Shea and Chris continued their adventurous wedding day, making their way to the mesmerizing Looking Glass Falls. The roaring waters created a quiet space for them to celebrate together and take some epic portraits. And after soaking in the beauty, the newlyweds took a well-deserved break to rest and rejuvenate.
Toasting to Love: Asheville Brewery Crawl Reception
The afternoon saw them exploring Asheville’s iconic breweries, starting with a delightful stop at New Belgium. Their love story was honored and celebrated with every sip, cheers echoing their commitment to each other.
As the evening rolled in, Shea and Chris continued to the bustling Greenman Brewery in downtown Asheville, where they had reserved the rooftop patio for their dinner party. Guests were treated to a delicious dinner provided by the brewery, after which heartfelt toasts were raised in honor of the newlyweds, and Shea and Chris graced the floor with their first dance and cut their cake from Nothing Bunt Cakes. The ambiance was a blend of fun, excitement, and nostalgia.
