What is the Wild Places Workshop?
We are partnering with Outdoor Africa to host an incredible, truly one-of-a-kind, part photography workshop, part safari adventure; connecting adventurous wedding photographers with some of the wilder places in the world and giving them access to shoots in places they’d never be able to access on their own, while also learning about the culture, histories, and legends of the areas in which we are shooting.
This workshop takes in some of the most spectacular areas in South Africa, steeped in legends, ancient culture and traditions. Along with teaching sessions and incredible styled shoots in the African bush, the workshop attendees will also enjoy superb game drives to view and photograph some of Africa’s most enigmatic game species.
We'll spend 9 days on safari, shooting at some of the most gorgeous lodges and nature preserves South Africa has to offer, learning and growing both as photographers, and as part of a wider global community.

Where and When?

We are partnering with 3 amazing reserves where we will stay, learn, eat, and sleep, and we’ll be doing incredible shoots on the gorgeous grounds of each reserve. We even have the incredibly unique opportunity to do a fully-styled elopement shoot IN the bush at our final location; something not many people have access to!

Who Is This Workshop For?
This workshop is for photographers with a passion for adventure and the outdoors who want to learn the skills needed to break into and thrive in the adventure wedding photography market. It is designed to be most helpful to fairly established photographers who have been in business for at least a year if not more. We’ll be delving into client experience, branding, and marketing and won’t be spending time on camera function or technical skills. Whether you’re an experienced photographer who is tired of shooting in ballrooms and country clubs or a family or portrait photographer who wants to break into intimate weddings and adventure elopements, we are so excited to guide you on this next step of your photographic journey.
