Man. This year was mind-blowing.
And I really don’t like that phrase, I feel like it’s overused.
But this year really did blow my mind. My ideas of what I was capable of, my dreams and goals for my business, my capacity for connection with my clients and friends, and my desire to serve them in the best way possible were all expanded and stretched in ways I never imagined they would be at the start of 2016. Being a destination wedding photographer and an Asheville engagement photographer sounds like a glamorous job, and at times it really is. Other times it’s exhausting and stressful but at the end of the day (or season) I wouldn’t trade it for the world. This year my work took me from the East Coast to the West, from NC to Washington to Las Vegas. It took me out of the country, to the Bahamas, St. Lucia, Italy, France, and Switzerland, to name a few. I got to photograph engaged and in love couples on mountaintops, on sea shores, in coffee shops, on boats, and even underwater. I got to meet wonderful people of all walks of life, professions, races, ages, cultures. I’m so thankful for the most amazing, adventurous couples a girl could ask for, women and men who are up for anything I throw at them, whether it’s jumping in a waterfall at 6,000 feet or perching on the edge of a cliff as the wind whips around them, making their engagement photos more than just another Blue Ridge Mountains engagement shoot.
And that’s just the engagements. I was going to do an all-encompassing Best of 2016 post but I just had too many love stories I wanted to highlight, so I’ll start with this. Stay tuned next week for the weddings!
