Katie and Kent couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for their Chapel Hill Carriage House wedding. Sunny, 75 degrees, gorgeous. They deserved it, they’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. They started dating in high school, after Katie broke her pelvis and Kent began bringing her her homework assignments. The rest, as they say, is history (and algebra, and english, and…). When you’ve been together for nearly a decade, there’s a lovely sort of comfortableness to your love, and these two were no exception. Their day was relaxed, laid-back, and SO FUN. I shot Katie’s sister Maddie’s wedding last year, so I was ready this time…y’all, this family LOVES to dance. I also got to steal them away for a portrait session right at golden hour and those shots just make me giddy!
Things to look out for: I got to spend the first few minutes post-ceremony with Katie and Kent and their bridal party and families in the hallway outside the sanctuary, and I LOVE that. Those first moments of joy and laughter and hugs as each new group exits the church and runs to the bride and groom are priceless. Also, Kent is an avid Ultimate Frisbee player so their guest book was a custom frisbee, “virgin plastic” as Kent called it, never been thrown. After dinner as the sun was setting the two of them took it out and threw it around for the first time. Such an awesome, meaningful “first” for them! The Chapel Hill Carriage House is such a lovely venue, all the details were bright and perfect. But enough words…I’ll let the photos speak for themselves!
