When Jocelyn first contacted me with her vision for their epic St. Lucia destination wedding, I could hardly believe the words I was reading. I love working with clients who have a vision for their shoot, making it more of a collaboration than just a portrait session. And Jocelyn and Zach definitely knew what they wanted out of their wedding photography. These two have been together for nearly a decade and have had many adventures together; they wanted their wedding week to reflect that. We started with their epic engagement shoot in Asheville last year and kept on planning from there. I got the opportunity to photograph them not only on their wedding day, but in TWO epic adventure shoots in the days leading up to it. We spent one glorious afternoon at Pigeon Island and a gorgeous evening at Anse Mamin beach. One thing I love the most about being a destination wedding photographer is the chance to photograph people out of their natural habitat, a little outside of their comfort zones, forcing them to rely on each other and focus on each other in a new way. Jocelyn and Zach were no exception. They fit together perfectly, both emotionally and physically, and were completely at ease in front of the camera and with each other. It was such a joy and a delight to get to capture this most special of occasions for them. Stay tuned for the epic wedding day itself! For now, enjoy their amazing adventure shoots and sweet love.
Special thanks to Siobhan Lorraine Photography for flying around the world with me to second shoot!
