Kelly Ann and Wil had the most adventurous Roan Mountain elopement we’ve captured! They wanted to elope at sunrise at a location near and dear to their hearts – Roan Mountain. KA and Wil had their first date at this beautiful spot and wanted to promise one another forever at the same place. They convinced 25 of their most dedicated family and friends to hike the 2.5 mile trek to watch them say ‘I-do’ at sunrise.
The day started at 3:30AM, as KA and Wil got ready at a nearby Airbnb cabin. KA finished her hair and makeup before packing up their dress and tux and heading out with their crew. Their family and friends were total troopers trekking up the mountain in the dark!
Since KA didn’t want to mess up her dress on the hike, her mom and friends held up a sheet for her to change behind. Wil, after getting his tux, stood behind the sheet. As KA’s mom dropped the sheet, Wil’s face was full of joy seeing his bride for the first time!
After the ceremony, we got to spend an entire hour exploring the mountainside and getting some incredible bride and groom photos. One of the many benefits of having an intimate elopement is the extra time you and your love get to spend together. You get time to celebrate all those just-married feels. Plus, we get killer portraits of the two of you!
Once we wrapped up photos, we all headed back down to the cabin for a casual lunch reception with some heartfelt toasts, drinking games, and good times all around! KA + Wil’s adventurous Roan Mountain elopement was unforgettable. We hope to capture more elopements like this one!
