So I’m sure by now you all recognize Carmen and Michael. First of all, Michael proposed last fall in one of the most emotional, elaborate proposals I’ve ever witnessed or had the honor of capturing. Then, last week I revealed Carmen’s beautiful and meaningful bridal portraits that were a lovely tribute to Michael’s father who passed away a few years ago. And NOW I get to show off their lovely, elegant wedding at Bay 7 in Downtown Durham, NC! I love being a Durham wedding photographer because of beautiful venues like this one.
This wedding day was over 5 years in the making, as Carmen and Michael started dating while still in College at UNC Chapel Hill (go Heels!). It was such a joyful celebration of their love, full of family, friends, and emotional moments (just WAIT till you see Michael’s face when Carmen walked down the aisle!). Everything, from quiet moments of prayer before the ceremony, to Carmen being walked down the aisle by each of her family members in turn, to the Carmichael Museum the couple put together telling their long and beautiful story, spoke of the deep love and support that surrounds these two. I loved the “first touch” they did around a wall, complete with recorded messages for each other. So sweet. I’m so happy to share them with you today!
Congrats Carmen and Michael!
As always, thanks so much to both Maria of Maria Estes Photography for second shooting and for the awesome help of my intern, Amelia of Amelia M. Photography!
