Rebecca and Ethan's Adventure Wedding in Asheville, NC
Rebecca and Ethan live at the beach, but the mountains are near and dear to their hearts. As they started thinking about where and how they wanted to get married, they drew on their love of the Blue Ridge Mountains (and the fact that Ethan proposed in Tennessee) to guide their vision, eventually settling on an intimate 12-person wedding in Asheville. Their October wedding day dawned cloudless and cold, with mists rising from the hollows of the mountains and the orange-gold foliage dripping in the early morning light.
Rebecca and her mom had their hair and makeup done overlooking the mountains at their rental property by Anarie, while Ethan and his closest friends played pool in the upstairs game room. It was blissfully relaxed, with time for Rebecca to give her mother and soon-to-be mother-in-law thoughtful letters and gifts. Everyone got dressed in the sun-soaked rooms of their giant rental house, and even the couple’s pups, Tyde and Hank had special outfits for the occasion!
After a private first look in the yard, Rebecca, Ethan, and their nearest and dearest piled into cars to drive to the trailhead for a short hike to the overlook where they would say their vows. Love and Wisdom provided an officiant for their intimate ceremony. Rebecca and Ethan promised each other forever as the birds sang and the sun danced on the fall foliage around them. After their ceremony and some family photos, their guests hiked down while R+E took some time to themselves for a picnic and a little mountain adventure.
Back at their rental house, Chef Graham Overal was preparing an elegant feast to celebrate the day. Rebecca, Ethan, and their guests enjoyed wine on the patio as the sun began to set, then gathered around the table for an intimate multi-course dining experience. Toasts were said between courses and tears were wiped between bouts of laughter. It was an incredibly intimate and celebratory experience.

This sounds like such a magical concept! Fairview’s breathtaking views and serene backdrops make it the perfect spot for an intimate wedding. I love how the article highlights the idea of connecting with nature while celebrating love. It reminds me of a wedding I attended at a family farm in Fairview where the mountain views were simply stunning. Are there specific venues in Fairview that cater to adventurous couples? Also, for outdoor weddings, what’s the best time of year here to avoid unpredictable weather? 🌿💍
